A man in his armchair in the evening, rolling down a LightLegs sock before bed

6 reasons LightLegs feel different around your calves

(especially if your last pair left a red ring)

That tight ring below your knee after a long day? Your socks shouldn't leave you counting the hours until you can take them off. Here's what makes LightLegs different.

01

Stop noticing the band

Tight sock bands leave a red ring below your knee. LightLegs have a flexible top band that stretches with your calf. So you forget they're there and get on with your day.

02

No squeeze at the top

Compression socks don't squeeze equally everywhere. LightLegs are firmest at the ankle, with pressure gradually easing up the calf. So you get support without excessive pressure at the top.

03

Fits your calf, finally

Socks sized by shoe size squeeze one man's calves and sag on the next. LightLegs are sized by your calf, not your foot. So they fit snugly, without pinching.

04

Comfortable until bedtime

A man sitting at his kitchen table in the afternoon, legs crossed, wearing LightLegs socks

Stiff compression stockings become uncomfortable after hours of wear. LightLegs use a thin, flexible nylon-and-spandex knit. So you're not itching to take them off before bedtime.

05

Stays up all day

Soft-topped socks end up round your ankles by lunchtime. LightLegs hug your whole calf, not just the top. So the band stays soft, and they still don't slip.

No. The band stretches with your calf and rests on it instead of pressing in. Pick your size by your calf, wear the top just below the knee, and there's nothing left to mark your skin.

No. LightLegs hold on along the whole length of your leg, so the band doesn't need to squeeze to keep them up. Pick your size by your calf, and they stay where you put them all day.

No. The knit springs back into shape every time you take them off. Follow the care label, and the band keeps its fit wash after wash.

Just below the knee, not over it. If the top ends up on or near your knee, roll it down a little until it sits on your calf. That's where the band is made to rest.

Then you get your money back. Wear them for up to 30 days, and if they're not for you, get in touch, even if you've worn them. Wrong size? We'll send you a new pair.

I was worried they'd look like medical stockings, but honestly they just look like ordinary socks. I've worn them to the pub, on walks and while gardening without anyone noticing.

I'll be honest my wife picked these out. I told her I didn't need them. Three weeks later I wear them every day for work. They look like normal socks, they're comfortable all day and my legs actually feel decent by the time I get home. Wish I'd started wearing them sooner.

I'm on my feet all day in the warehouse and by 3pm my legs used to feel done. These have made the last few hours a lot more manageable. Didn't expect much for the price but they've held up well after regular washing too.

First compression socks I've actually stuck with. Easy to pull on, comfortable all day and they don't roll down like others I've tried. Worn them for hours and forgotten they're on. Washed them plenty of times and they still fit perfectly

Wasn't expecting much, but these have been brilliant. Easy to put on, comfortable all day, and my legs feel a lot less heavy by the evening.

    FAQ

    About LightLegs

It means the sock is firmest at the ankle and gently eases off as it goes up the calf. LightLegs are knitted that way from ankle to knee, in a thin, stretchy nylon-spandex fabric.

Turn the sock inside out down to the heel, slip your foot in and settle the heel in place. Then roll the rest up your leg rather than pulling it. If you use a sock aid, LightLegs work with that too.

Go by your calf measurement, not your shoe size. Our size guide takes you through it in a minute. If they don't fit, email us and we'll send you the right size free of charge.

Wash at 30°C and let them air dry. Avoid the tumble dryer and hot washes, as heat is what wears out the stretch in compression socks. Our 4-pair bundle comes with a free mesh laundry bag to protect them in the machine.

LightLegs are made for everyday comfort, not to treat a medical condition. If you have a condition, or you've been prescribed compression stockings, please check with your GP or nurse before swapping or adding them.
