A man in his late sixties pushing a wheelbarrow along a border in his back garden, wearing wellies and navy LightLegs socks

6 reasons gardeners love LightLegs

(number 6 says it all)

One little job turns into a whole afternoon, and by the time you sit down, your legs feel every hour of it. Here's what makes LightLegs different.

01

No wrestling before breakfast

A man in the kitchen in the morning lacing up his boots, already wearing LightLegs socks, with a mug of tea and toast on the table

Stiff support stockings turn getting dressed into a morning wrestling match. LightLegs are knitted thin and stretchy. So they slide straight over your heel, and they're on before your tea's gone cold.

02

Bend and kneel in comfort

The same man kneeling on a garden kneeler by the border, weeding, the top band of his navy LightLegs sock sitting smoothly below his bent knee

Kneel at the border for an hour, and a tight band cuts into the back of your knee. LightLegs have a flexible top band that stretches as your knee bends. So nothing digs in.

03

Support that lasts all afternoon

Infographic of a LightLegs sock showing graduated compression: firmest at the ankle, gradually easing up the calf

After a few hours of digging, your ankles feel heavy. LightLegs are firmest at the ankle, easing off gradually up the calf. So the support sits where your legs need it most, all afternoon.

04

Look like ordinary long socks

A man working in his front garden in autumn, chatting with his neighbour over the garden wall, his socks hidden under his trousers

Support stockings make your legs look like they've been to hospital. LightLegs have the ribbed knit of ordinary long socks. So under your trousers or in your wellies, they look like any other pair.

05

Lighter legs by evening

A man relaxing in an armchair in the evening with his feet up on a footstool, still wearing his LightLegs socks

After a full afternoon, your legs feel twice as heavy when you sit down. LightLegs support them all day, from breakfast to the last job. So they feel lighter when your feet go up.

06

Less faff, says Lewis

Five-star Trustpilot review by Lewis Moonie: Excellent value product. Perfect if you want a support stocking which you can wear day to day in comfort. They are less of a faff to put on than many others Ive tried.

Most support stockings are a faff to put on, and Lewis had tried a few. He found LightLegs comfortable day to day, and less of a faff. Try them yourself, risk-free for 30 days.

Yes. LightLegs are firmest at the ankle and ease off up the calf, so your legs get support from the first job to the last. You sit down in the evening with lighter legs instead of heavy ones.

Yes. They hold on along the whole length of your leg, not just at the top, so they stay where you put them when you're kneeling at the border, up a ladder or out with the dog.

No. They're thinner and lighter than prescribed stockings, so there's far less fabric on your legs. Under trousers and in wellies, they feel like a light pair of long socks.

No. They have the ribbed knit of ordinary long socks and come in five everyday colours. Under your trousers or in your wellies, they look like any other pair.

Then you get your money back. Do a full day in the garden in them, and if they're not for you, get in touch within 30 days, even if you've worn them. Wrong size? We'll send you a new pair.

I was worried they'd look like medical stockings, but honestly they just look like ordinary socks. I've worn them to the pub, on walks and while gardening without anyone noticing.

I'll be honest my wife picked these out. I told her I didn't need them. Three weeks later I wear them every day for work. They look like normal socks, they're comfortable all day and my legs actually feel decent by the time I get home. Wish I'd started wearing them sooner.

I'm on my feet all day in the warehouse and by 3pm my legs used to feel done. These have made the last few hours a lot more manageable. Didn't expect much for the price but they've held up well after regular washing too.

Good sock. Legs feel better after a long day.

First compression socks I've actually stuck with. Easy to pull on, comfortable all day and they don't roll down like others I've tried. Worn them for hours and forgotten they're on. Washed them plenty of times and they still fit perfectly

Wasn't expecting much, but these have been brilliant. Easy to put on, comfortable all day, and my legs feel a lot less heavy by the evening.

    FAQ

    About LightLegs

It means the sock is firmest at the ankle and gently eases off as it goes up the calf. LightLegs are knitted that way from ankle to knee, in a thin, stretchy nylon-spandex fabric.

Turn the sock inside out down to the heel, slip your foot in and settle the heel in place. Then roll the rest up your leg rather than pulling it. If you use a sock aid, LightLegs work with that too.

Go by your calf measurement, not your shoe size. Our size guide takes you through it in a minute. If they don't fit, email us and we'll send you the right size free of charge.

Wash at 30°C and let them air dry. Avoid the tumble dryer and hot washes, as heat is what wears out the stretch in compression socks. Our 4-pair bundle comes with a free mesh laundry bag to protect them in the machine.

LightLegs are made for everyday comfort, not to treat a medical condition. If you have a condition, or you've been prescribed compression stockings, please check with your GP or nurse before swapping or adding them.
