6 differences between LightLegs and the pair you gave up on

(number 6 says it all)

Getting them on was a battle, so you gave up. You're far from the only one. Here's what we did differently.

No more battling the heel

Thick compression socks turn every morning into a wrestling match with your heel. LightLegs use a stretchy nylon-and-spandex knit. So they slide straight on and spring back into shape.

Comfortable until bedtime

A thank-you note from Wendy and Ken: Ken was given some socks by the District Nurse but they were a nightmare to get on. They gave us a plastic frame to stretch the socks open but that didn't help at all. Before we got your socks we were just about ready to give up as it was all a losing battle.

By mid-afternoon, thick stockings feel like hard work. LightLegs are knitted thin and light, without the usual bulk. So they still feel comfortable when they come off at night.

Easier on, still supportive

Soft, easy-to-wear socks give your legs no real support. LightLegs are firmest at the ankle, easing off up the calf. So your legs still get proper support, all day.

Fits your calf, finally

Socks sized by shoe size squeeze one man's calves and sag on the next. LightLegs are sized by your calf, not your foot. So they fit snugly, without pinching.

Normal socks, proper support

Traditional compression stockings look more medical than everyday socks. LightLegs have the ribbed knit of ordinary socks, with the support knitted in. So they go with your usual shoes and trousers.

What changed for Ken

Even a sock aid couldn't make Ken's old stockings manageable. With LightLegs, Wendy says his legs feel more comfortable and ache less. Try them yourself, risk-free for 30 days.

They're thinner and lighter than most prescribed stockings, with a stretchy knit that goes over your heel more easily. They work with a sock aid too, if you use one. And if they're still a faff, send them back for a full refund.

Yes. LightLegs use graduated compression: firmest at the ankle, easing off up the calf. The easier fit comes from the thinner, stretchier knit.

No. They come in five everyday colours and sit flat under trousers or with your everyday shoes. Nobody needs to know.

I was worried they'd look like medical stockings, but honestly they just look like ordinary socks. I've worn them to the pub, on walks and while gardening without anyone noticing.

I'll be honest my wife picked these out. I told her I didn't need them. Three weeks later I wear them every day for work. They look like normal socks, they're comfortable all day and my legs actually feel decent by the time I get home. Wish I'd started wearing them sooner.

I'm on my feet all day in the warehouse and by 3pm my legs used to feel done. These have made the last few hours a lot more manageable. Didn't expect much for the price but they've held up well after regular washing too.

First compression socks I've actually stuck with. Easy to pull on, comfortable all day and they don't roll down like others I've tried. Worn them for hours and forgotten they're on. Washed them plenty of times and they still fit perfectly

Wasn't expecting much, but these have been brilliant. Easy to put on, comfortable all day, and my legs feel a lot less heavy by the evening.

    FAQ

    About LightLegs

It means the sock is firmest at the ankle and gently eases off as it goes up the calf. LightLegs are knitted that way from ankle to knee, in a thin, stretchy nylon-spandex fabric.

Turn the sock inside out down to the heel, slip your foot in and settle the heel in place. Then roll the rest up your leg rather than pulling it. If you use a sock aid, LightLegs work with that too.

Go by your calf measurement, not your shoe size. Our size guide takes you through it in a minute. If they don't fit, email us and we'll send you the right size free of charge.

Wash at 30°C and let them air dry. Avoid the tumble dryer and hot washes, as heat is what wears out the stretch in compression socks. Our 4-pair bundle comes with a free mesh laundry bag to protect them in the machine.

LightLegs are made for everyday comfort, not to treat a medical condition. If you have a condition, or you've been prescribed compression stockings, please check with your GP or nurse before swapping or adding them.
